Wink An Altec From The Buchanan Michigan Factory

Self explanatory when you see the EVM basket/frame.

I saw the two auctions for these the other day. It's funny that you post about it now, as I was just about to do the same.

Any knowledge here on them? Are they a rebadged EV or something only marketed under the Altec name? How do they perform, and for what market/function?

It could be a re-badged EVM 15L, it has the same "classic" or "black label" type EVM motor which has a bumped backplate versus the flat backplate of the EVM 15B.

It IS a rebadged EV. AFAIK were not sold separately but were used in some subs. Not 15 L though...much higher xMax see surround.

I didn't know they were worth auctioning... I threw 4 pairs of those out and gave two pairs away in January. They didn't have an altec nameplate though so they were just EV junk. I had the same shallow cone version as the auction, Can't remember the ev number but when I looked up the response it had that same awful MF breakup.

One thing I like about EV is they at least give detailed specs on their drivers...

Heck, they even give a spec for the "bump" in the backplate. (thickness of backplate at voice coil)
